| Q |
There
is no data backup facility in the program. How do I backup my data
in case of a computer crash?
|
| A |
Your data resides in the
'data' directory/folder where you installed your copy Your Jobs
software.
By default the program installs itself into the Program Files\Your
Jobs folder So will find all the database files in Program
Files\Your Jobs\data folder.
To make a backup of your data simply copy or zip the contents of
your data folder to your backup device/disk. If during
installation you chose a different destination, you will find the
'data' folder under that.

| Q |
I
installed the program but it has stopped loading because I didn't
register it. When I uninstall and reinstall the program it still
wont load. Why?
|
| A |
You will need to
register your program if you intend to continue using it. Much
time and resources have gone into developing the program and
offering it to you. If Bill Gates allowed people to exploit his
hard work he may only be worth a million instead of a billions.
Please register, so I can at least feed my kids and pay the bills.

same results if you clicked on the Filtered Jobs tab and changed
the 'Next Date' 'from' value to lets say 01/01/2000
|

'from' and 'to' boxes.

I have
more than one operator and wish to give each of them a list of
their jobs for a specified day/period?
|
| A |
Simply perform the steps
described in the previous questions above which explain how to
narrow the list down to a particular day or period and then use
the 'Operator' box to narrow down further to each operator.
|
| Q |
I have
Jobs that need to be done Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly or
as Required. How can I control this situation?
|
| A |
Each Job has a 'Type'
field. Simply use the Type field to distinguish each job as Daily,
Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly or as Required. You can then use the
Filtered Jobs tab to separate each of these types and then apply
the 'last date' filter to them. For example, show all the
Fortnightly type jobs and then narrow the list down further to
just the ones which haven't been done for a fortnight by changing
the ' Last Date' 'to' box to the date a fortnight ago. Or to put
it more simply, used the filtered jobs tab to show all fortnightly
jobs that haven't been done for a fortnight.
|
| Q |
Why
isn't there a proper help option?
|

The program is purposely
without bells and whistles to keep it as simple as possible for
the end user.
|

Can I
use this application on a network with multiple users accessing it
and maintaining the records?
|
| A |
Whilst the program has
not been designed for or tested in a network environment, you are
welcome to try as there is a good chance that it may work OK
.Please be aware however that there may be some record
locking problems as with most other multi user database
applications.
|
| Q |
How
does the 'Search Jobs' tab operate?
|
| A |
When you
enter your search string and press the 'go' button, the jobs which
are displayed those where main fields begin with the value
that you entered. For example if you missed a phone call from a
particular phone number and you wanted to see if the call was
possibly from one of your customers, enter the phone number into
the search field, press 'go' and all of the jobs with that phone
number will be displayed. Or if a guy name Joe called sometime
today asking that you come and do his lawn again, enter Joe into
the search field, press 'go' and all the jobs where the name is
Joe will be displayed.
|
| Q |
When
I click the report button there is no option allowing me to select
which jobs to print?
|
| A |
If you run
your mouse over the report button you should see a hint pop up
that says 'Preview/Print Report of data currently displayed'. In
other words, use the Filtered Jobs tab to display the jobs first
and then click on the report button to 'Preview/Print Report of
data currently displayed'. The report button simply regurgitates
the data that you are currently displaying and in the same order
that you have selected with the 'sort by' option.
|
| Q |
I
want to print all of my jobs for tomorrow in a particular order?
|
| A |
Use the
filtered jobs tab to display all of tomorrow's jobs, then assign a
priority to each job, then use the 'sort by' option at the top of
the screen to sort by priority, then press the print button to
'Preview/Print Report of data currently displayed'.

| Q |
I
have a registered copy of 'Your Jobs' and I want to give it to all
of my mates. Can I do this?
|
| A |
Yes you can.
Do keep in mind however that if you also gave them the program
registration code that you purchased, then your name will be
impregnated into their program. Should they be prosecuted under
the legal system for illegal use of software then you too can be
prosecuted for illegal distribution of software and software
pirating.
